A perfect system of love
The most important thing I want to share with anyone who has stumbled across this page is that you are unconditionally loved by Spirit. Here on the planet, we can liken it to a parent who loves their child “no matter what.” Though the love of Spirit is even grander, as it is clear of any human bias; in fact, they always see you as you truly are, which is a perfect piece of the divine. You came from this love, you go back to this love – you are this love – always, no matter what. You also have access to an abundance of help from this love while you are here on the planet. In fact, it cannot wait for you to call on it and bring it in!
No matter who you are, what you are going through, or what your life has looked like up until this moment, know that help is always available to you from Spirit and that you always deserve this help. Every single person on the planet has a Soul and is connected to this wealth of assistance. You don’t need to do anything or buy anything or change anything in order to receive this help – it is always with you and you always deserve it.
Why help from Spirit is special + different than any other help
Spirit (including your own Higher Self) has full awareness of your past, present and potential futures, as well as everything that is going on all over the planet, the galaxy, and beyond. It knows what you came here to do and what you are meant to work on or let go of in this lifetime. You even planned for this lifetime while you were in spirit form with other souls! This means it can work with you in ways that you cannot even imagine, always for your highest good. However, because we have free will while we are here on the planet, we do need to ask and give permission for this help while we are here.
Giving permission to receive
Earth is a planet of free will. This means we have the free will to co-create with Spirit, or to not co-create with Spirit. Therefore, in order to receive assistance from Spirit, we must first give permission for Spirit to help us. The following section includes detailed practices for how we can give our Spirit Team permission to work with us and help us in various situations.
Practices for calling in your Spirit Team
Knowing you are loved
In terms of calling in your Spirit Team, it can be a great start to just know that you are loved, to really feel it in your body and heart. Sitting there and just remembering how much you are not alone in all of this, that you have loving energies all around you that want you to know how much you are indeed so very loved.
This “team of love” can include, but is not limited to: spirit guides, angels, loved ones who have passed (including beloved pets!), ancestors, ascended masters, your own Higher Self, and more. I do want to stress that we, ourselves, are part of our own Spirit Team – our Higher Self, our Soul, our own past lives as guides, our multidimensional aspects who have ascended on other planets… these are all parts of our guide set.
Stating your intent to receive help from your Spirit Team
Although you can certainly call on individual aspects of your Spirit Team (ie; your Higher Self, a specific loved one who has passed, an ascended master such as Buddha or Jesus that you are connected to, etc.), I am going to start us off with just some simple statements of intent you can use to call in your Spirit Team as a whole, as really they are all working together behind the scenes for your highest good. Spirit knows exactly what we need when we need it, and often we as humans limit them or make it more complicated than it needs to be. Thus, to start us off, I will simply be using the terms “Spirit” or “Spirit Team.” (Calling in specific parts of our Spirit Team will be covered later down the article!)
Let’s start with a very simple statement of intent that I have been utilizing over the past few weeks for myself:
- “Dear Spirit, I give permission for you to help me throughout the day in a way that is loving, gentle, safe, appropriate and comfortable.”
So you might ask, “Why do I need to state that it be comfortable or safe? Wouldn’t that just be a given?” Yes, it is a given! However, I have found that we as humans get uncomfortable sometimes with the benevolent changes that are taking place behind the scenes (I have certainly experienced this personally!). Often, there will be changes that are for our highest good but make us feel uncomfortable or fearful. This can be for many reasons, namely because we have simply gotten used to the status quo and our brains tend to fear anything new or different.
By stating up front that you intend to receive this help in a comfortable and gentle way sets the intent to receive it in this way. There is no need to worry about the help from Spirit ever being inappropriate – this is mostly for you to practice getting comfortable with the changes, exercising our empowerment and intention, and also getting our field ready to receive incoming information in the way we have stated (gentle, safe, comfortable).
Using intent and affirmational language
You might wonder why I used a statement of intent rather than “asking” for help. We are powerful beings and therefore our own innate power is part of this whole equation. Stating affirmations, for example, or taking vibrational elixirs or creating an intention or a portal can help us direct our energy, work with Spirit, and manifest our intentions. It is important to remember that Spirit is not separate from us – we are Spirit choosing to have a human experience. Therefore, we have the power to co-create with Spirit. So there are many ways to give permission for Spirit to assist you and for you to work powerfully with Spirit using intention, affirmation and more.
I do want to clarify that we do always receive help from Spirit through knockings at the door, messages in dreams or songs in our head, and our Soul and Higher Self do “push” us into certain directions. The kind of expanded help I am talking about is where we give overt permission for Spirit to bring us assistance that is very clear and palpable. Basically, this goes beyond the default level and moves into actively working with and co-creating with Spirit.
How help is received
Signs and signals
Spirit will never interfere with what you are here to learn, but they can help you through whatever you have chosen to go through in ways that you may not expect. You can also receive incredible remembrances, healings and amazing gifts!
It can be a great starting point to just know that you are loved, to really feel it in your body and heart.
As long as you give Spirit permission to work with you from a place of pure intent, you will receive assistance. There are ways to refine this, which I will go into later, but the even the simplest phrase, “I give Spirit permission to help me” can go a very long way.
Oftentimes, I find myself glad at the end of a challenge because I have asked for clarity or received insights as to why I needed to have a certain experience. This can help you step out of feeling like a victim and recognize the purpose and learning that comes from different situations. They can also help you hone your intuition and awareness so that you can avoid certain experiences as well.
When I say “Spirit,” this is a catch-all for all of the benevolent, loving beings on the other side of the veil who are here to assist you. Because this team is so loving and big (yay!), it is common to use the phrase “Spirit Team” to encompass your personal “team” of energies. They can include, but are not limited to: spirit guides, angels, loved ones, ancestors, ascended masters, beloved pets and, of course, your Higher Self.

Seeing results in your actual life
Through working with Spirit, I have also experienced magical synchronicities, help with my body’s healing, access to new ideas, deep soul memories and more. Oftentimes a broad request is actually better than a narrow one, as Spirit can bring you ideas, circumstances, and awareness that you theretofore had not thought possible! Although it doesn’t hurt to also state your literal desired outcomes (if you have one) and then add “or something better!” at the end. ;)
